A Perfect Circle has not made a new full-length album since eMOTIVe came out in November 2004. The group broke a five-year hiatus in 2009 for some live shows, but another studio album has yet to be announced.
Maynard James Keenan hinted to us a while back that full-length albums were probably not in A Perfect Circle’s future: “I doubt if we’ll do a full album, but most likely we’ll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore.”
Meanwhile, Keenan, who also sings for Tool and leads the rock cabaret act Puscifer, posted a message on the latter band’s Instagram page, saying, “For my 666th IG photo, I’d just like to say… Music is happening on ALL fronts. Always. . . . #tool2014 @aperfectcircle @tool @puscifer.”
Tool has not released an album since 2006’s 10,000 Days, but the band has reportedly been working on new music on and off for the past year.
Drummer Danny Carey told Loudwire in July that Keenan had not yet started working with the rest of the group at that point, saying, “It’s still the three of us right now and four of us it will be soon.”
