Modern rock breakout band Young The Giant will release its second album, titled Mind Over Matter, on January 21st. The long-awaited follow-up to the group’s self-titled 2010 debut has been preceded by the first single and video, “It’s About Time,” which is available now online.
Frontman Sameer Gadhia told Rolling Stone that the new disc is much more personal, explaining, “I think a lot of people can relate to the idea of being able to battle their own selves — their doubts, the obsessions that they have, the idiosyncrasies they have, the things that they do to run away or get away from. And sometimes those things can be positive forces and sometimes they can be negative forces. I think some of the subject matter is quite personal and a lot of us have struggled with our own personal doubt.”
Young The Giant’s first album was released digitally in October 2010, with the physical CD appearing in January 2011.
The record yielded two Top Five hits at Modern Rock radio with “My Body” and “Cough Syrup.”
