Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor and longtime collaborator Atticus Ross have landed their third straight Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Score for their work on Gone Girl, the thriller starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. Reznor and Ross have won the Golden Globe twice for Best Score, for 2010’s The Social Network and 2011’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Both those films, like Gone Girl, were directed by David Fincher.
Reznor told us not long ago that he didn’t envision working with many directors aside from Fincher:
“I don’t see myself being the guy that takes on five pictures a year, because I don’t think it could hold my interest. And also, I don’t think the experience would be as stellar as working with David Fincher. My experience has taught me there aren’t that many people out there that are that are that exceptional.”
Reznor and Ross also won the Oscar for Best Original Score for The Social Network.
The duo’s work on Gone Girl will compete against the scores to films like The Imitation Game, The Theory Of Everything, Birdman and Interstellar for the prize.
The nominations for the 2015 Golden Globe Awards were announced on Thursday morning (December 11th) and the ceremony will take place on January 11th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with the show airing on NBC.
