A “serious accident” that wrecked equipment and injured a crew member caused the cancellation of Foo Fighters charity fundraiser in Auckland, New Zealand. According to a Facebook post fromFrontier Touring Company, “a truck carrying essential band equipment was involved in a serious accident.”
The driver of the truck is expected to be “okay,” the statement said and equipment is being flown in from Los Angeles for a show the following night that is still scheduled to go on. Tickets purchased will be refunded.
Last week, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was named the official 2015 ambassador for Record Store Day, making him the public face of the annual celebration of independent record shops.
Grohl follows in the footsteps of Chuck D and Jack White in the role and will release Songs From The Laundry Room, a 10-inch EP featuring previously unreleased Foo Fighters demos, covers, and songs, as part of the festivities on Record Store Day, April 18th.
