If you built a tunnel near the Rexall Centre in #Toronto give us a call, k? 416-808-2222— Chris Boddy (@TPSChrisBoddy) February 24, 2015
#2 What If...This tunnel is one of many built by "tunneling hobbyists"? Tunnel-Digging as a hobby may seem far fetched but actually DOES exist. For example check out the work of Dr. H. G. Dyar as mentioned here. Online you can also find multiple guides on how to dig your own tunnel. Perhaps the builders of the "#TorontoTunnel" are just bored individuals with a lot of time on their hands..
#3 What If...This tunnel was just the work of.. aliens! Yup, that must be it. They landed, began a subtle excavation project before discovering the leafs win/loss record for this season. Shortly after that they packed up and left as quickly as possible.
Okay, Mystery Tunnel solved. A wormhole kind of thing. Aliens were going to use it to watch tennis at the Rexall Centre without paying.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 25, 2015
#4 What If...This tunnel is a way to dodge taxes, after all the Toronto Police Service did state that the tunnel was at a comfortable temperature. With this cold weather, digging a hole for winter hibernation doesn't sound like such a bad idea!
I think the #Torontotunnel. is just some engineers idea of affordable non condo warmer weather housing.— Michael Leech (@Violinzilla) February 25, 2015
#5 What If...This tunnel is a marketing ploy for the upcoming Pan AM games. They planned it, they dug the hole, the whole 9 yards. Why? clearly to start a rouse in anticipation for their upcoming events.
I hear they're opening 2 Tim Horton's franchises, one in each end of the #TorontoTunnel.— Al Grego (@pftw) February 25, 2015
