The most talked about Irish singer/songwriter sold out Massey Hall on March 2nd.
His self-titled debut album released this summer and his song “Take Me To Church” went viral. The Hozier hype has not died down as the audience swayed along to songs such as “Someone New” and “In a Week”.
Hozier and his band of six were spot on and pitch perfect while reaching all different vocal ranges. Strobe lights, smoke machines, and beautiful lighting set the mood for such a breathtaking performance.
As the show came to a close and Hozier said goodnight the audience cheered encore and stomped their feet until finally he ran back on stage! He asked “Are you allowed to come up front with me?” and the audience didn’t wait for an answer! Hundreds of fans ran up to the front aisles, shoulder to shoulder to enjoy the last few songs including a cover of Ariana Grande’s “Problem.” Massey Hall became a dance party as Hozier put his own unique twist to the pop song.
We cannot forget George Ezra who started off the night with his beautiful voice. It was the first time the two performed together and what a great combination. Not only do they both have incredible accents but they are both powerful vocalists and wicked on the guitar.
If you missed out on Hozier this time don’t worry he will be performing at the WayHome Music And Arts Festival held July 24-26 near Barrie.
