Not all albums that get recorded get released. There’s a long list of stillborn albums that, for whatever reason, have never seen the light of day. Green Day recorded something called Cigarettes and Valentines that “disappeared” and forced them to start all over again. That new record became American Idiot so things turned out just fine in the end.
Trent Reznor produced an entire solo album for Rage Against the Machine singer Zach de la Rocha that he says will never see the light of day. Speaking of Trent, there’s his long-lost Tapeworm project. And the Smashing Pumpkins recorded something called Glass and The Machines of God. But just because these albums were never released doesn’t mean they don’t exist. They do—and if you know your way around the Internet… Just sayin’.
