Frank Turner didn’t have a moment to rest during his whirlwind visit in Toronto. Turner graced us with his presence for an intimate Sugar Beach session in the afternoon and followed that up with a raucous and rowdy performance at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
British folk singer, Beans on Toast was a unique opener for the night with his fun and catchy tunes, which focused on topics ranging from politics, drugs, and love. The audience was all laughs as he cracked jokes about different world issues. A great combination of a talented artist and stand up comic.
After Beans on Toast had the audience all amped up, it was time for the English folk/punk singer-songwriter to ignite the stage. Turner’s live and studio band since 2006, The Sleeping Souls rocked out alongside him and added to the onstage presence of this band. The audience was full of energy and members among them crowd surfed, moshed, head banged, and screamed along to songs such as “Recovery” and “I Still Believe.”
Toronto was the start of Turner’s Tape Deck Heart tour but hinted that he won’t be gone for long and that big things are to come!
