One of the first records I remember playing when I got to CFNY in late 1986 was this single from Kansas City’s Rainmakers. And for some reason, I still remember the singer’s name: Bob Walkenhorst. And I remember that
Stephen King—yes, him—professed to be a huge fan of the group. He even quoted Rainmakers lyrics in a couple of his novels. The band broke up in 1990, reformed in 1994, broke up in 1998 and as of 2011 became a going concern again. This track is from their self-titled debut album.
