It was the summer of 2008. I was invited into a room at the Sunset Marquis in Los Angeles where I found System of a Down’s Daron Malakian sitting next to one of the biggest piles of weed I’d ever seen. Through the smoke we talked about Daron’s side project, Scars on Broadway, which had just been released on Interscope.
At the time, this song was starting to gain some traction at radio and a big tour was planned. But then for some reason, everyone lost enthusiasm for the project and Scars on Broadway has been on hiatus ever since. Too bad because there was potential here.
