Daniel is best known as the guitarist in both Bauhaus and Love and Rockets, but in 1991, he stepped out on his own to make a solo record. His ex-bandmate in Bauhaus, Peter Murphy, had already released a couple of records on his own and both had become alternative radio hits. That wouldn’t do, so Ash decided to give it a solo go himself. Coming Down was released through Beggars Banquet (Love and Rockets’ label) and ended up being the first of four solo records issued between 1991 and 2005.
