Ecologist Marielle Anzelone is the lead behind the Pop-up Forest coming to New York City for three weeks this summer. This project aims to turn Times Square into a large, temporary nature exhibit–basically, bringing a forest into the most urban spot of the city. In addition to the massive plants and trees, there will be wildlife sounds streaming live from rural areas near New York. Anzelone launched a Kickstarter campaign and has surpassed her $25,000 goal to make this idea into a reality. After the few weeks, the greenery will be dispersed throughout the city (ex. parks, school yards, etc).
