A French company has figured out a way to bottle peoples’ unique body odor. The invention was originally made as a way to preserve the scent of those who have passed away, for those mourning the loss, since there is a huge connection between body odor and memory. They take an article of clothing of the person and extract the scent (which is about 100 molecules) and turn it into perfume within four days. It will cost about $739.
However, the company says it could be used for other situations too. Kids could have perfume scented as their parents if they’re going to be apart from them for long periods of time (summer camp?), or they could be given as a Valentine’s gifts (especially for long distance partners).
Hmmm… I’m thinking that this can be too much, and creepy in certain situations. How would you ever get over it? Also, keeping an ex’s shirt after a breakup and smelling it is just barely acceptable… but turning it into a perfume is just crossing the line. How about bottling the scent of your crush? A celebrity? All you need is that piece of cloth… yea, creepy!
