As Canadian Music Week continues, Ontario based band Walk Off The Earth walked on to stage for the first time this year and started their North American tour. Instrument throwing, confetti, giant balloons, Canadian flags, fog machines, and crazy lights all made for one giant dance party!
Not only is there a new album on the way but also a new life. Band members Sarah Blackwood and Gianni Luminati are expecting a child in June. Despite being very pregnant this did not stop nor slow down the energetic Blackwood. The high energy and party atmosphere had her dancing and performing with her baby belly all night long.
The band known for being discovered by their YouTube covers created some major nostalgic moments. On one guitar they all performed Goyte‘s “Somebody I Use To Know” but changed it up mixing in pop hits “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus, “Rude” by Magic!, and “Wake Me Up” by Avicii.
Major hits “Red Hands” and their newest single “Sing It All Away” had everyone at the venue singing along and afterwards screaming for an encore. Following up to the encore was radical solos by each band member and the release of the much anticipated balloons.
Walk Off The Earth brought the summer vibes to the sold out Danforth Music Hall and definitely brought the hype for their upcoming album Sing It All Away coming June 16th!
