The iconic floating restaurant on Toronto’s Queens Quay is finally going to be scrapped. Captain John’s, the rotting vessel on Toronto’s port is set to be turned into scrap metal after decaying for years in the water. The hull is flooded with about ten feet of water and is completely lined with asbestos. Back in its glory years the restaurant played host to Toronto’s mayors and many celebrities and is now essentially a floating piece of garbage. The floating restaurant is a sweet concept though, it wouldn’t be too surprising if a similar establishment pops up in the future.
