Deciding what to do with the crumbling Gardiner Expressway has been a hot topic for city council for weeks now. This slab of concrete is deteriorating and we’ve got no clue on what we should do with it. However, if city hall does decide to repair it I think they build it with ‘Bio-Concrete’, a new cement mix that automatically fills cracks with limestone.
Here’s how it works: the concrete mix contains a bacteria called ‘bacillus’ that produces limestone when it comes in contact with H2O (also known as water). As concrete structures inevitably deteriorate over time, water seeps through the cracks and comes in contact with this secret ingredient resulting in limestone that fills every crack!
Its concrete that repairs itself! John Tory, if you’re reading this.. you gotta look into it!
