Muse has released the lyric video for “Reapers,” the fourth new song to be unveiled from the trio’s upcoming album Drones. Drummer Dominic Howard told us that the track is a good example of the band attempting to capture its live sound in the studio:
“It’s a hard thing to try and really get that live energy onto a recording. In the studio it’s much more difficult. But I think we got pretty close with this album and we really wanted to try and find that energy and that live feeling and kind of try and attempt to record it, and I think this time around we got pretty close, especially with like ‘Reapers.”
The other new songs that have been previously released include “Dead Inside,” “Psycho” and “Mercy.”
Drones arrives on June 9th and follows up 2012’s The 2nd Law.
The disc is a concept album about a drone operator who at first obeys the orders of his military superiors, then slowly begins to revolt against the war machine he’s part of.
Muse will tour North America later this year.
