When filing records, do you put bands with numbers for names in a special section or do you file them under the first letter of the spelling of the first number? I’m not very consistent with this, but I’m trying to move towards allowing number bands to have their own space. This is where I found 999, an early punk band—they were formed in London in 1975—that specialized in short, sharp and occasionally spikey pop songs. They’ve had several breakups and reunions, but the most recent (est. 1993) seems to have stuck. They still play gigs today. Their best album, Separates (1978), featured this single.
