4-D movie experiences were once reserved for amusement parks. Now they’re coming to regular movie theaters.
These seats make your movie experience much more realistic: your chair will rumble and move in all directions, air will puff out in front and from behind you, strobe lights will fill the room, fog and snow will creep up around you, scents will come and go, and so on. And they’re huge: some 4-D motion seats can use up a row or two or space in a regular theater.
As a result, the price will be a bit jacked up from the ~$10-15 mark. In L.A. a “4DX” ticket at Regal Cinemas costs $26.25. Theaters are hoping this will help with movie theater attendance and box office success, since it’s been on the low in recent years.
What’s cool is that Canada leads in this new advance. D-Box Inc. have built nearly 330 installations of their ‘MFX” seats worldwide, with 175 in North America.
Anyone remember this at Wonderland???
