Jack White may have quit touring for a while but he’s far from finished with making music. His band The Dead Weather has announced that it will release a new album called Dodge And Burn in September through White’s Third Man Records. The new disc is the band’s third studio effort and follows up 2010’s Sea Of Cowards.
Dodge And Burn features 12 songs, including four previously released singles that have been remixed and remastered for inclusion on the record. Among the songs are “Open Up (That’s Enough),” “Rough Detective,” “Buzzkill(er),” “It’s Just Too Bad,” “I Feel Love (Every Million Miles)” and “Cop And Go.”
A press release stated that White – who plays drums in the group — singer Alison Mosshart, guitarist Dean Fertita and bassist Jack Lawrence “spent their rare and sporadic free moments over the past year recording together in Nashville.”
The press release also noted that the Dead Weather will not be touring in support of the new album.
A limited-edition vinyl version of the album will be released exclusively through Third Man Records’ Vault series. The package includes alternate artwork as well as a seven-inch of “I Feel Love (Every Million Miles)” and “Cop And Go.”
White announced earlier this year that he was taking an indefinite hiatus from touring after completing a year-long trek in support of his second solo album, Lazaretto.
