Virginia based indie-folk band The Last Bison covers M83’s ‘Midnight City’ with captivating flare. To break down an electronic heavy song into a gritty acoustic session is compelling to say the least. The Last Bison utilizes a banjo to cover the irresistible synthetic melody we’ve all grown to love that plays from start to finish. The string section forces the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up as if you’re listening to this song for the very first time again. The prolonged build up in the beginning begs you to drop whatever you’re doing just to lend your ear with undivided attention.‘Midnight City’ is a song that captures both excitement and wonder of going out at night. Not only does The Last Bison highlight this energy, but also adds to it in an original way that enables a new audience to enjoy a song they may have otherwise never been interested in.
