A few years ago Disney took over the reigns on the Star Wars franchise with Episode VII set to come out this winter. But Disney has just greenlighted another Star Wars film to come out Memorial Day 2018. The new movie will be about the origins of Han Solo and his first encounter with Luke and Obi-Wan.
The directors of the film are Chris Miller and Phil Lord. The two are in high demand after directing the Lego Movie, 21 & 22 Jump Street. It is obvious that there’s a ton of potential here but after the depressingly unsatisfying result that was Episodes I, II, and III, there’s just as much potential for disappointment. So let’s not get our hopes up until we know who is cast as Han. Last thing the Star Wars franchise needs is another Hayden Christensen.
