A 5 year study based in Toronto has confirmed that streets with more trees significantly increase the health of neighborhood residents, and more.
The study examined trees and the amount of them in various areas, they conducted an online questionnaire for Toronto residents, and looked at their cardio-metabolic and mental illness rates.
The results showed that people who live in neighborhoods with more trees had less cardio-metabolic rates like obesity and hypertension, and also had an improved perception of their health compared to those living in areas with less trees.
Not only this, they claim that planting 10+ trees on a street can increase each house’s income by $10,200 or being 7 years younger! Super interesting.
