A robot has passed the self awareness test in New York. To test this, scientists used the King’s Wise Men puzzle, a test based on logic and induction, which the robot passed. It was adapted for 3 robots.
Two robots were told they were given “dumbing pills” and wouldn’t be able to speak. They were all asked who was still able to speak. None of them knew, until one said “I don’t know”. That robot then followed up with: “Sorry, I know now!”
While this is a small step in testing the intelligence and consciousness of robots, the team leader of this experiment says that the more tests these robots will pass, the more skills they will build, and finally – the more useful to humans they will become.. OR the more robots will take over your jobs! Yikes!
Speaking of creepily intelligent robots, this super-computer was the first AI to pass the turing test last year, convincing people it was a 13 year old boy:
That’s it! Robots are definitely going to take over the world.
