After over 400 band entries, Ivory Hours have won the second installment of the Edge Next Big Thing, in concert with Bier Markt Music.
“We feel fantastic! It’s great to have your work recognized in front of all those people and the judges. It’s nice to bring home success to the fans who’ve been around for a long time,” said lead singer Luke Roes.
Ivory Hours brought a unique sound to their set. It was polished, danceable and left the crowd moving to the beat and singing along. It was a very upbeat, extremely energetic performance. The trio from London, Ontario along with five other up-and-coming bands, put on a wonderful night of performances.
“Performing at the Phoenix Concert Theatre was great! There was a great crowd with a fantastic lineup of six bands,” mentioned Roes. “You can’t ask for better people to play with at a great venue.”
Luke, Chris, and Thomas have won $25,000 cash, $10,000 worth of gear from Long and McQuade, professional consulting from Dine Alone Records, studio time at Metalworks Studios and $2,500 of custom band merch courtesy of Cloud Empire Creative. Roes did comment on what the band will do with the prize money, and what their plans are for the near future.
“We’ve been chatting with what we’ll do with the prize money. Right now we want to focus on getting singles on the radio, along with an extensive tour next spring.”
On top of the prizes and tours, the band will be back on stage at the Phoenix Concert Theatre at the 2015 CASBY Music Awards, Thursday October 22nd. They will be performing along with: USS, Yukon Blonde, Young Empires and the Zolas.
“We are stoked to be a part of the CASBYs,” said Roes. “The lineup is unreal and it will be a pleasure to be there and perform again. We want to give a BIG thank to the Edge, Dine Alone Records, Bier Markt, our family and friends and most importantly, our long-time fans that have been there since day one!”
