Two things about you, your smartphone and going to concerts. A new survey says that close to a third of people between the ages of 18 and 34 spend at last half of a gig using their smartphone. They’re texting, emailing, surfing, photographing or videoing half the time the band is onstage.
Less than 15 percent claim that they never, ever pull out their smartphones during concerts. Some will say that 15 percent of these concert goers lie. Fine. People are going to want to video certain parts of a show. But if you’re doing to do that, please use landscape mode. Don’t be so vertical with your shots. This is such an issue that YouTube has introduced a new feature that converts video shot in portrait mode into widescreen or landscape mode. It’s not a perfect solution, but over time, maybe it’ll teach people to do things properly.
