There are plenty of administrative positions in the music industry: lawyers, accountants, managers, caterers, promoters, merch merchants, drivers, blunt rollers. Wait—what? That’s right. There are a number of groups who employ someone whose job it is to roll joints. That’s their whole gig.
According to Billboard—which did a survey of music industry jobs and how much they paid—the position of “drug holder/blunt roller” paid an average of $500 a week plus hotel and travel expenses. But competition is fierce. Last spring, Waka Flocka Flame, a musician from Florida, offered an annual salary of $50,000 to the best blunt roller he could find. I have no idea if the position is still available.
