Motown will forever be known as the Detroit label that cranked out hit after hit for black artists beginning in the 1960s. But not all Motown acts were black. There were several all-white bands: The Rustix, The Dalton Boys and The Underdogs. But don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard any of those names; those bands never had any hits. But then there was Rare Earth, an all-white Detroit band who began performing under that name in 1968. This was one of their Motown hits.
