Known as “The Maddie”, this pub is known to any University of Toronto student. It is basically 3 Victorian mansions attached together and with so many rooms it can get confusing. But not to fear, enjoy getting lost and maybe you’ll meet a new set of friends! There are TV’s everywhere and on certain nights there is live music. You know there’s going to be a line up so get here early.
This artsy pub is for those going to OCAD. Students can come here and have their creativity run wild. You can sit outside on warm summer and fall nights and let the juices start flowing.
This pub at York University is hidden in Winters College on the ground floor. You might have gone by it, you might have even seen it but did not know what this pub was all about. It’s where friends can go and have a good time without spending that much money. Pitchers are reasonably priced and same with drinks. Throughout the week, “The Ab” (as it is known to York U students) has different themed nights, to bring in all types of students. This includes Tacky Sweater night and other such shenanigans. Thursday night line ups are the norm, so get there early, around 8, so you do not have to wait that long to get in.
No list would be complete without The Brunny on there. The brave souls that enter might think, “What is this place?”. You might thank yourself for stepping inside or hate yourself later. You have been warned.

Victory Cafe is known for their craft beer. This quaint bar not only does jazz nights, but does trivia nights, book launches and poetry readings. More and more people love the Victory Cafe, and who wouldn’t with a name like that.
