In Dream, Editors’ 5th album, has been dubbed the best record of their career. Frontman Tom Smith explained that “[it] was was a bit more… experimental is the wrong word – but ‘free’.” Check out their album sampler below!
3. Collective Soul – See What You Started By Continuing (Oct 2)
This is Collective Soul’s 9th album, and their first album in 6 years.. why? “It was like taking a holiday […] When we came back, everybody was excited to go back and do it again. After 18 years, we just really needed a break from Collective Soul, and I’m glad we did it. If you’re not careful, tempers start flying and bands start breaking up. It was better to just go away for a little bit” – frontman Ed Roland. We’re glad they’re back!
4. Eagles of Death Metal – Zipper Down (Oct 2)
Zipper Down is EODM’s 3rd album, and their first release in 7 years. They’re a California band who’s core members are Jesse Hughes and Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme.
5. Indian Handcrafts – Creeps (Oct 2)
Indian Handcrafts are from Barrie, Ontario. Creeps is said to be their heaviest release yet!
6. Born Ruffians – RUFF (Oct 2)
Born Ruffians are an indie rock band from Midland, Ontario. According to a press release, in this 5th album, “seething with rage and ambition, [Frontman Luke Lalonde] offers a succession of songs following the circuitous motion of tidal mood swings.”
7. Wild Child – Fools (Oct 2)
Texas-based indie pop band Wild Child are coming out with Fools, their 3rd album. They’re a big ensemble, playing many instruments, including the violin, cello, ukelele and trumpet.
8. Blitzen Trapper – All Across This Land (Oct 2)
All Across This Land is Blitzen Trapper’s impressive 8th album. They’re an Oregon-based experimental folk/country band.
9. City and Colour – If I Should Go Before You (Oct 9)
This is Dallas Green’s 5th album. According to him, “It’s a collection of 11 songs – the thoughts I had on my mind: a last ditch effort to find something better and leave well enough alone. You can steal it, stream it or even buy it! Just try to enjoy it. I know I do”. We will!
10. Ryan Hemsworth & Lucas – Taking Flight (Oct 9)
Producer Ryan Hemsworth has been collaborating with many rising stars through his Secret Songs label project, but his latest project is this full collaborative EP with Seattle producer Lucas.
11. The Decemberists – Florasongs (Oct 9)
This 5 track EP consists of the songs that didn’t make the cut in Oregon-based Decemberists’ early 2015 record What A Terrible World. What a Beautiful World.
12. Johnny Marr – Adrenalin Baby (Oct 9) (Live Album)
Johnny Marr, the former guitarist of The Smiths, is releasing Adrenalin Baby, a debut solo live album. It includes live perfomances from the past 3 years. It also includes some Smiths covers and a cover of The Clash’s “I Fought The Law”.
13. Oberhofer – Chronovision (Oct 9)
Oberhofer started up as founder/frontman Brad Oberhofer’s live performance band, and now they’re coming out with their second studio album Chronovision.
14. Mogwai – Central Belters (Oct 9)
Central Belters is a 3 CD bundle with the best highlights and rare tracks over the course of the band’s career. It comes to mark the group’s 20th anniversary!
15. Dilly Dally – Sore (Oct 9)
Sore is Toronto-based Dilly Dally’s debut album. They’ll be touring around North America this fall, stopping by their hometown at the Horseshoe Tavern on November 27th.
16. Deerhunter – Fading Frontier (Oct 16)

This is Chris Walla, Death Cab For Cutie’s former guitarist’s, new solo record. It’s all instrumental with no vocals.
19. Majical Cloudz – Are You Alone? (Oct 16)
Are You Alone is Montreal-based Majical Cloudz’s 5th album. It’s an electronic/indie project of singer/songwriter Devon Welsh and producer Matthew Otto.
20. Raury – All We Need (Oct 16)
Raury is an Atlanta, Georgia-based musician who mixes soul, hip hop and folk. This is his upcoming debut album and will feature guest appearances from Big K.R.I.T., Key!, Tom Morello, and RZA.
21. Dave Gahan & Soulsavers – Angels & Ghosts (Oct 23)
Dave Gahan (lead singer of Depeche Mode) and Soulsavers have collaborated once again: Angels & Ghosts is their second LP.
22. Half Moon Run – Sun Leads Me On (Oct 23)
These Montreal-based indie rockers are releasing their sophomore album Sun Leads Me On, following their critically acclaimed album Dark Eyes back in 2012.

25. EL VY – Return The Moon (Oct 30)
Return The Moon is EL VY’s debut album. With it, they’re going on an extensive tour will be stopping by Toronto’s Opera House on November 17th. The band is a project of long time friends Menomena’s Brent Knopf and The National’s Matt Berninger.
26. Puscifer – Money Shot (Oct 30)
Puscifer is a electro-rock band founded by Tool’s Maynard James Keenan. He’s technically the only permanent member, so he considers the project to be his “creative subconscious”. This is his 3rd studio album.
27. The Neighbourhood – Wiped Out! (Oct 30)
Wiped Out! is California-based The Neighbourhood’s upcoming 2nd album. The experimental indie rock/hip hop band will be making a tour stop in Toronto on October 9th!
