According to legend, Chet Lott claimed victory over Dave Grohl at Thomas Jefferson High School’s 9th Grade Battle of the Bands back in ’83. Even though Dave’s seen so much success in his music career, he was never able to move past the defeat… Until October 7th, 2015.
During Foo Fighters’ gig in Memphis, Grohl invited Lott to the stage to join the band in singing a cover of Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure”. Grohl let Lott sing lead so he could experience what it really feels like to be a rock star. Afterward Lott told Grohl, “I may have won the battle, but you won the war.”

Apparently Lott is the son of a former Senate leader who actually plays music professionally and donates all the proceeds to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina, so, it’s kind of a win-win situation.
