This song will sound familiar if you have a copy of Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged album from 1994. When Kurt agreed to do the session, he insisted on staying away from Nirvana’s obvious hits and going for deeper tracks. He also selected a series of covers. There was one from David Bowie, three from his buddies in the Meat Puppets and this 1987 song from The Vaselines, a Scottish band that Kurt really loved. They never sold a lot of records but Kurt knew that including this one song on a Nirvana album would earn them a ton of cash. It did. And it continues to as a result of its inclusion on box sets and compilations. Thanks, Kurt!
