There were so many weird sound that came out of the New Wave area. And by “weird” I mean “cool.” That’s how I’d categorize Stan Ridgeway and Wall of Voodoo, an LA band which really seemed to like their spaghetti westerns. Ridgeway never started out wanting to be in a band. Instead, he had his own film scoring business that was doing okay. But when the New Wave thing began to take off, he decided he’d give it a shot. This album, Call of the West, became a big MTV favourite.
