There’s a rule in science that says if you discover a new species, you get to name it as long as you use the standard Latin nomenclature rules in doing so. For example, there are a bunch of ancient trilobites named after members of the Rolling Stones while a wasp carries a name based on Pink Floyd. Bono, all the members of the Sex Pistols and the Ramones and the Clash along with Freddie Mercury and Lady Gaga all have species named after them.
And now there’s Rollinschaeta myopena an ancient worm named after Henry Rollins because its discoverers are big fans of Black Flag and all of Henry’s solo work. This is the second species to carry Hank’s name. There’s also a certain family of jellyfish. Should he be flattered or insulted?
