I have way too many concert t-shirts, so I almost never buy any new ones. But when Trent Reznor took Nine Inch Nails out on the Wave Goodbye farewell tour in 2009, I had to get one. On the front is the Nine Inch Nails logo with the years 1989-2009. That sounded pretty final. And besides, twenty years is a great run for any musical project. And with Trent getting into different things like scoring movies and later working on Apple Music, you can see why he’d want to move on.
But what’s this? Last month, there was a tweet from Trent, confirming that he will be back in the guise of Nine Inch Nails sometime this year. It was pretty unambiguous, too. “New NIN coming in 2016. Other stuff, too.” Are we looking at a full-scale comeback? We’ll see.
