Working at a funeral home you have one job. This funeral home in Texas failed miserably after not only losing the body but they actually replaced the missing body with a random stranger.
Jose C. Perez passed away in February of 2014 and his family filed a lawsuit after the funeral home lost his remains and displayed a stranger’s corpse dressed in the man’s suit and jewelry. After close to a three hour search his body was found at another funeral home.
Since the funeral home subbed in a stranger in place of Jose that means there was multiple missing bodies. Julie Mott who had died in August had also gone missing with no explanation. Sometime after her memorial service and before her body made it to the crematorium she vanished. Police think her body was stolen out of its coffin while it was in the hallway before reaching the crematorium.
Mission Park Funeral Chapels and Cemeteries in San Antonio is facing two lawsuits over missing bodies. Nothing has been proven in court yet, but it might make you think twice before choosing a funeral home!
Who the hell steals a dead body anyway?
