The Toronto Maple Leafs have revealed their new logo for the 2016-2017 season. The new design was showed off last night following the game in Boston on ‘The Leaf: Blueprint’ which is a show that runs on TSN 4 and is produced by Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment.
The logo looks pretty similar to the older ones but there are a couple of key differences.
Here’s the new logo and some explanation as to why it’s the way it is.
This isn’t the first time the leafs have changed their logo but it has been over 40 years since any serious changes have been made.
Fans shared their thoughts all over social media and there was a lot of positive feedback.
Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan is pleased with all the reactions to the new logo and had this to say about it.
The 2016-17 campaign will also mark the NHL’s 100th season.
