New Horizons has revealed more water ice on Pluto’s surface than previously thought with new observations in infrared light. So what does this mean for science? Well, discoveries of hydrogen and oxygen seem to be more and more common with every new discovery. The possibility of finding liquid water on a planet seems to be a more likely scenario by the day. According to the full article, a large portion of Pluto’s water ice is buried beneath a thick layer of methane, nitrogen, and carbon monoxide ice.
