Like you really needed an excuse not to go to the gym, well now you have 5! Here’s a few trainer approved reasons for not going to the gym.
1: Anytime you feel under the weather or sick you probably shouldn’t work out, it could get messy. If you think you can handle it then maybe a little physical activity will help you feel better but there’s no use in putting extra stress on your body.
2: Being injured is another pretty good excuse. Obviously if you have a broken leg you’re not going out running but if you have a sprained finger you can probably suck it up. The key here is don’t focus the workout around the injured body part.
3: Are you one of those people that forces yourself out of bed at an ungodly time of day to get that extra pump in? You might want to reconsider! Not getting enough sleep can do your body more harm than good. Not only will the amount of shut-eye you get impact the quality of your exercise but it hurts your overall physical health.
4: You know that feeling after you worked out too hard and it physically hurts to move for the next couple of days? Well if you’re feeling like that you should probably take a rest day because your body doesn’t get enough rest you could actually lose muscle and what’s the point in going to the gym if you aren’t gaining anything!
5: If it’s a question of getting into work on time or going down to the gym you should probably pick work so you can afford that gym membership for the next month. Being too backed up and busy is the final excuse to not go to the gym. That being said before you get too excited you should just manage your time a little better because even a 4 minute workout is better than none.
Just because you have a couple more excuses doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t go!
