As Valentine’s Day approaches, long distance couples may find it difficult to come up with ideas on how to spend time with one another. Despite the distance, there are a few things couples can do to still have a romantic day.
Spend a Couple of Hours Together Online
Whether it be over Skype or FaceTime, spending a couple hours with one another can make a big impact. Take some time out of your day to play an online board game with your significant other, or to just talk.
Mail Each Other Gifts
In a society that focuses so much on technology and the Internet, we sometimes forget how good it feels to receive snail mail. Send off a care package and don’t tell your significant other it is coming. It’ll be a great surprise when they receive it. Even making them a small homemade card can have a large impact.
Send Something to Their Workplace
This one may seem a little cliché, but who doesn’t love to receive gifts when they least expect it? Send some chocolates or flowers to your sweetie’s work place. They will be pleasantly surprised, and whatever you send will make a great addition to their desk.
Let Them Know You’re Thinking of Them
As we begin to get busy throughout the day, it is a great idea to send a text to your significant other to let them know you are thinking of them. Use a trail of emojis to create a sweet message or send them funny gifs and videos you see throughout the day. The reminder that you are thinking of them will be remembered and appreciated.
