Owning an electric car seems like a win win situation. You’re saving the environment and you don’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of money on gas!
The only big downside is the price tag on these things. Currently the base model Tesla goes for around $95,000 and you’ll only get about 370 km on a fully charged battery.
Since electric vehicles don’t take any gas or produce greenhouse emissions there is a lot of support from the government so whenever you pick one of these bad boys up you become eligible for a rebate anywhere from $5000-$8000.
If this doesn’t make you want to drive one of them I don’t know what will.
For those who can’t afford the heavy price tag of the electric super car well you’re in luck!
Tesla has recently announced they are planning on releasing a new, cheaper electric car that retails for $35,000 before you get any of those nice rebates back.
The co-founder and CEO of Tesla Motors had this to say about their new car.
Model 3 reservations ($1000 down) will be accepted in Tesla stores on March 31 and online April 1— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) February 11, 2016
Tesla isn’t the only one in the electric car game as GM is planning on releasing the Bolt by early next year. These cars will be less than $30,000 after tax breaks.
