This upcoming Monday, February 15th is Family Day. Here is a small list of events that you can do with your family throughout the long weekend.
Ontario Science Centre
The Ontario Science Centre is holding a Family Day weekend event that will include IMAX films, lessons on how to ride a bike and special programs included in their Mammoths and Mastodons exhibit. The Science Centre is open from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Family Fun Fest
Family Fun Fest is taking place February 13th – 15th at Downsview Park. Kids will be able to enjoy amusement park rides, interactive games and bouncy slides. Other entertainment like an arcade and clowns are also included. Admission is $25 per person.
The Toronto Zoo is also holding Family Day events between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM where you and your family can explore the many different animal families living at the zoo.
Royal Ontario Museum
The Royal Ontario Museum is hosting museum tours from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM, as well as holding a special event that celebrates the Lunar New Year. Audiences can listen to a drum show and a specialty choir.
Hockey Hall of Fame
At the Hockey Hall of Fame, admission for children is free for Family Day weekend. Families can participate in events like shooting at a hockey net and taking a look at the Stanley Cup.
The Scarborough Museum is offering scavenger hunts, crafts and baked goods all throughout Family Day weekend. There is no set admission; instead it is pay-what-you-can.
Canadian International Autoshow
The Canadian International Autoshow features new cars, trucks and motorcycles. More than 100 booths will be featured throughout February 12th – February 21st at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Taking place at the Harbourfront Centre, the HarbourKIDS Snowglobe features professional ice skaters, a theatre and artists. Admission is free and the event takes place between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
TIFF Bell Lightbox
The Toronto International Film Festival is hosting different family themed movies. The Land Before Time and Ernest & Celestine are just some of the options playing. Admission to each movie is free.
Fort York is hosting a Family Day event that features an 1812 drill class, old-fashioned games and a kid’s activity book. Admission is $7.96 for adults and $4.87 for children aged 6-12 years.
