GOOD IDEA –
Building a gondola in the Don Valley. In case you hadn’t heard the city was thinking of building a gondola along the Don Valley. It’d start somewhere on the east side of the valley and go down to the evergreen brick works.
This isn’t gonna cost you the tax payer, by the way. A private company called the Bullwheel International Cable Car Corp. wants to do it. Says it’d cost around 25 million bucks.
I LOVE this idea. Our city needs some cool touristy stuff sure, but I’m more concerned about you, the valiant GTAer … this is something that’d just be cool to do. You take a day in the summer or the fall when it’s still warm but there’s no bugs and you have a romantic gondola ride through the sky. That’s rad.
I know this might seem like something silly, but you know how when they film a movie in Toronto and say it’s some place else they always incorporate a few landmarks that really let you know it’s Toronto after all? Well I guarantee there’d be a big movie scene filmed in that thing within the first year of it being open, and I would also imagine that at some point there’d be bungee jumping off it or something too.
And let’s not forget that gondolas are just freaking cool. A lot of cheesy proposals are gonna happen on that thing, so please let’s give cheese a chance and ensure Toronto gets a goddamn gondola.
