GOOD IDEA –
Not being so sensitive. This year the St Paddy’s day parade will have a ginger float. Everyone with red hair is welcome to join in. You don’t even need to have read hair naturally. It can be dyed they don’t care the more the merrier.
That is awesome. They don’t care. They just want everyone to join in. If people make jokes, they don’t care, it’s about being together and having fun, and it’s so refreshing. Because I don’t know if you know this. We are WAYYYYYY too sensitive these days.
Everyone is. We’re all just waiting for someone to say or do something we can construe as a slight. It’s pathetic, and the worst part is, now we don’t say anything at the moment. We wait. Let the perceived slight fester, our anger warping details then go online and rant about it after hours or even days have gone by.
It’s sad. It’s hurtful and damaging. And perpetuates this atmosphere of negativity where everyone is on edge assuming the worst in each other.
Within thirty minutes of reading about the ginger float I’d already been reading complaints saying it was offensive and exploitive … and the worst part? None of the offended people were even gingers. We’ve gone full moron.
Stop being so offended, go have some pudding and put the keyboard away.
