It’s #WorldBookDay – so here are some great rock n roll reads to help you celebrate..
In no particular order but starting with THE rock biography –
Anthony Kiedis – Scar Tissue
As gritty as a biography can be. The Chili Peppers front-man holds NOTHING back in this absolute rock n roll classic.
Dave Grohl – This is a Call
Published in 2011 ‘This is a Call’ is the first real biography of the rock n roll icon we know and love from Nirvana, Foo Fighters and countless other projects. A great place to dive into the world of a modern day rock n roll legend –
Frank Turner – The Road Beneath My Feet
Frank Turner‘s book is an autobiography of sorts, he kept a road journal, dating and numbering the shows he played starting with his first solo gig after leaving his post-punk band ‘Million Dead’. The road was a long one but from the first show in a small club in front of nearly noone, through dingy clubs in Europe, America and of course Canada – specifically the Horseshoe Tavern here in Toronto – all the way to selling out London’s O2 arena this book is a true rock n roll success story.
Travis Barker – Can I Say
The Blink-182 Drummer biography covers everything from touring, growing up, to the nearly fatal plane crash he survived and his painful and long road to recovery, finding peace and all things Blink-182..
Seems like a good start! Happy reading!
