GOOD IDEA –
Knowing that not everyone has to like everything. The New Ghostbusters Trailer came out yesterday morning. I didn’t like it. It’s not for me. I don’t think it’s bad and I don’t think the people in are untalented. I think Kristen Wiig is hilarious. She’s one of the most consistently funny comedians I can name.
It’s just the movie didn’t get me. Or the trailer didn’t. Who knows, I only saw 2 minutes and thirty seconds.
But I made the mistake of saying I disliked it on social media. Eight minutes. It only took 8 minutes for someone to say I only disliked it cause the leads were all women. I didn’t even reply. Didn’t bother. But the lack of a reply caused a dog-pile of idiocy. So I wound up retracting my statement by simply deleting it.
That’s the era we live in now. People are begging to be offended. They’re begging to be more politically correct than the person next to them, to champion some cause to ensure they have a more progressive online profile.
You don’t need to like everything, you shouldn’t because it cheapens the things you do like. And when people don’t share your tastes it doesn’t mean you have to read into it … unless they don’t like The Lego Movie …. cause then they’re probably some sort of deviant.
