..and his ‘girlfriend’ Lucille..
AMC’s The Walking Dead was all over the place for a long time, seemingly just as lost in their storytelling as our heroes are in a post apocalyptic zombie infested world. While the show still has it’s dead spots (pun intended) overall it’s been significantly more interesting since the group landed in Alexandria and the story started to more closely mirror that of it’s comic book source material.
For a perfect example of that check out this side by side comparison on the season 6 mid-season premiere and the comic book material it was based on.. http://www.edge.ca/WalkingDead
We’ve heard whispers of Negan on the show for weeks, even back to the mid-season finale and now in the 90 minute season 6 finale that airs this Sunday at 9pm on AMC we will FINALLY have one of the greatest comic book villains EVER join the Walking Dead‘s TV universe.
The Spoiler Part – If you haven’t read the comics this is probably as far as you need to read –
If you’ve read to comics you know that Negan makes the Governor look like a perfectly sane charming delightful young man and that is VERY VERY bad news for our favourites because the arrival of Negan surely means the departure of someone you love – I’m looking at you Glenn, Daryl, Abraham, Michonne, Morgan, Carroll.. hell maybe even Rick.. It could be anyone, but it will for sure be someone and I couldn’t be more excited. My money was on Daryl taking the hit but after he got shot last week that makes me think they’ll go in a different direction, he’s already injured why would you kill him if you’re Negan? You can kill someone and leave one of their key guys severely injured maybe he dies too and you get 2 for the price of 1. I also don’t think it will be Abraham because they just spared him giving his comic book death (arrow through the eye via Dwight) to Dennis. If you were going to kill him why not just do it in the epic way it happened in the comics? Michonne is too integral to the story to kill off same with Rick, although with the budding romance between the 2 it might hit Rick hardest. As for Carroll & Morgan, I think they are on a journey that will eventually lead them to The Kingdom.. The guy in armour looking for his horse seemed like a juicy Easter egg unfortunately that only leaves you Glenn my friend and since Glenn was Negan’s actual victim in the comics it would make a lot of sense. Ahhh but I love Glenn!
Who do you think it will be, if anyone?
