Some songs make it feel like summer regardless of the temperature outside…
2016’s wacky spring-winter hybrid season has left us frustrated on a daily basis. Faced with the daunting task of selecting the appropriate attire for the weather – we often fail. Even if we suspect it’s going to be unseasonably cold outside we get fed up – we want summer now, so we begin convincing ourselves that it’s OK to start dressing down too early (before the warmer weather begins – long before it gets hot).
One day, you decide to defy mother nature and forgo your morning smartphone temperature check. Wearing a brand new light jacket and Chucks, there is a skip in your step and you are serious about forcing spring out of hibernation. But spring doesn’t care about your snazzy new jacket or your super cool sneakers and… dumps some snow on you instead. Next, a mere 12-18 hours later, after an entirely frigid day spent wearing the wrong jacket, you return to the down-filled parka that would typically be reserved for January or December – only to discover it is now too hot to wear what basically amounts to a sleeping bag with arm holes.
Despite the fluctuating temperatures, we are getting much closer to summer and before you know it the beaches and patios will be full and the jacket dilemma will be on hold until fall.
With summer around the corner, a feel-good sunny playlist is as good as spending a day outdoors.
