Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne were recently in Paris, to participate in an art exhibit put on by French street artist JR. For their part of the exhibit, a DJ set turned into a full on performance from the Arcade Fire duo.
The most exciting part of the performance came when they debuted a new song, entitled “I Gave You Power”. Hopefully this means that a new Arcade Fire album is in the works.
They also strummed along to David Bowie’s “Oh! You Pretty Things”, Sinead O’Connor’s rendering of “Nothing Compares 2 U”, and Son House’s “Grinnin’ In Your Face”. They weren’t finished there when they performed an a cappella take on Neon Bible’s “My Body is a Cage”. All the while, the band was frolicking in the pond that surrounded the stage, and even had to remove a monitor that fell into the water.
