Jack White: Band Leader; Vinyl-Enthusiast; Guitar Aficionado. And now he is the subject of a new biography, Citizen Jack: How Jack White Built an Empire From the Blues.
Jack White has managed to accomplish a lot of things musically to cement him as one of the mainstays of the past 20 years. From his humble, yet explosive beginnings in The White Stripes, to branching out with his various side-projects (The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather), and solo work, Mr. White has had a pretty interesting rise.

With his recent expansion of Third Man Records, Jack White has built himself a musical empire that could see his music released for decades to come. But what about the man behind the myth? Citizen Jack will explore the rocker’s roots, and author Nick Hasted has recruited the likes of Raconteurs bandmate Brendan Benson, Neil Young and Seasick Steve to enhance the biography.
“Citizen Jack is the only book yet to tell the full story of the 21st century’s most influential rock star,” a description reads. “Not only that, it is the definitive history of the Detroit scene in which The White Stripes first flourished. No other book goes as deep into the lore of Jack White and The White Stripes.”
However, Third Man Records just released a statement on their Twitter saying that Jack White and Third Man had nothing to do with the writing process, so we’ll see what happens to this biography, which is set to be released on October 4.
